Brock Zearfoss Grabs Fifth At Lincoln; Port Royal & Williams Grove Next On Agenda
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Although the highlight of Zearfoss’ weekend was a top-five outcome during a Saturday afternoon visit to the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway, finishing fifth, officially, after starting sixth on the feature grid, perhaps Zearfoss’ most impressive display was his charge from 15th to eighth in just five circuits during Port Royal Speedway’s season opener on Sunday, March 8.
It was a notable rally, but unfortunately, the momentum boost came to an abrupt halt, as incidental contact with another competitor forced the Jonestown, Pennsylvania-native to retire with just six laps recorded. Zearfoss earned his way into the $5,000-to-win Port Royal Speedway lidlifter by way of third place finish during his respective heat race; he started ninth.
In addition to his top-five feature outcome in the Pigeon Hills, the ‘Jonestown Jet’ kicked-off his afternoon visit to Lincoln on March 7 with a victory during his respective heat race.
“We had a lot of speed this weekend. I wish things didn’t end so quickly for us at Port Royal. I think we were good enough to win that race, or at least be close,” Zearfoss said, driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./C&D Rigging Inc./BAPS Auto Paints & Supply/Meckley’s Limestone Products/Berkebile Oil Company/Klick Lewis Cars/No. 3Z sprint car. “I can’t thank this team enough for their hard work so far this season. Things are only going to get busier, but we’re ready for it. I wouldn’t want to be with anyone else.”
Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their 2020 campaign with another Central Pennsylvania pair, this time returning to the ‘Speed Palace’ that is Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, March 14, followed by the Williams Grove Speedway season opener on Sunday afternoon, March 15. The ‘Jonestown Jet’ will compete in Central Pennsylvania full-time until All Star commitments resume with an Attica Raceway Park doubleheader in early April.
