Eight-Race Florida Swing To Kick Off Peter Britten’s 2020 Racing Campaign
Story By: BOBBY CHALMERS / PETER BRITTEN RACING – WEEDSPORT, NY – It’s time to get to some racing, and Peter Britten is set to compete in the Sunshine state, chasing as many checkered flags as he can.
Britten is set to compete in both the Short Track Super Series “Sunshine Swing” at All-Tech Raceway February 6-8 and then head to the Volusia Speedway Park to compete in the DIRTcar Nationals February 11-15.
“I love racing in Florida,” Britten said. “It’s a great way to get back in the zone, test some ideas and just shake the rust off for the season up in the Northeast.”
Britten has only entered a handful of races on the Short Track Super Series but will be entering the three-event inaugural swing this winter.
“It’s a good idea to support someone who’s paying good money for the races down there,” he said. “We all complain about purses, so if we don’t support the races that pay well, why would they increase the purses any place else? We all have to support each other.”
With a total of eight events on his schedule coming up in Florida, Britten knows he can test new items he hopes will help make his car better, but also knows the exposure you get from running well in them is great for his sponsors.
“Both the Sunshine Swing and the DIRTcar Nationals have a lot of publicity around them,” he said. “That’s good to be a part of. Running well in Florida helps to represent your marketing partners well and hopefully we can get some momentum rolling for our team.”
The first event for Peter’s Florida tour is Thursday evening, February 6th at All Tech. He’ll run three straight nights there before making the switch to Volusia for Tuesday night, February 11th.
