Big Game Motorsports, Kerry Madsen Excited For Five Nights In Florida At DIRTcar Nationals
Story By: SHAWN MILLER / BIG GAME MOTORSPORTS – WINDOM, MN – Kerry Madsen is flying back to the United States for a week of racing in Florida.
The Big Game Motorsports driver, who is currently battling for the World Series Sprintcars championship in Australia, will invade Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville this Wednesday through Sunday for the sprint car portion of the DIRTcar Nationals. The first two nights are Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions races and the final three are sanctioned by the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
“I can’t wait to get the season started with Big Game Motorsports,” Madsen said. “We’ve had some good runs down at Volusia and I anticipate that we will be quick right out of the box. It’s a fast track so it is always important to start strong, beginning with a great qualifying lap. That can set you up for a great night.”
The Killer Instinct Crossbows backed competitor has recorded 17 top 10s in his last 23 main events at the half-mile dirt oval dating back to 2014. The team didn’t compete at the DIRTcar Nationals last year and most recently registered four top 10s in five races there in 2018, including a trio of sixth-place runs.
This week’s event is also the first with veteran crew chief Cody Jacobs as part of the team.
“We’re excited to have Cody on board,” Madsen said. “He has a lot of experience in the sport and has enjoyed a lot of success. Hopefully we can all click quickly and contend for wins right away.”
Madsen and Big Game Motorsports have earned 18 feature victories during the last three years, including a pair of triumphs in 2019.
