RPW Exclusive: ULMS Racing Series Returns To Woodhull Raceway In 2020
Column By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – WOODHULL, NY – The 2020 Season is nearly five months away…. Wait Five Months? I guess the off season was a bit longer than I thought. Uhm Anyways.
Sooner or later the race season will be back in full force at the High Banks of the Woodhull Raceway. One of the major touring groups giving teasers ahead of their full schedule release is the ULMS Racing Series. They have released on social media that the ‘Super’ Late Models will be back at the Woodhull Raceway in 2020.
For many years, many successful drivers in the Late Models have competed on the High Banks up until the 2013 season where the series decided to take a hiatus from the raceway. Fast forward to 2020 as now the stars and cars of the ULMS Series will be featured at the third mile high banked clay oval. Max Blair, Mike Wonderling, Bryce Davis, and others will return to Woodhull, this time in an over 800 HP Late Model.
For drivers like Mike Wonderling and Bryce Davis, it would be like returning to their Saturday night home tracks. For drivers like Max Blair, David Scott, and Greg Oakes, it will be quite a challenge as they have not seen the high banks since the ULMS had been there in 2012 or since the FASTRAK Northeast Racing Series event in 2012.
