Saratoga 602 Super Nationals, $5K-To-Win Fall Pro Stock Classic Highlight Card Friday At Albany-Saratoga

Story By: TOM BOGGIE / ALBANY-SARATOGA SPEEDWAY – MALTA, NY – The support classes will get top billing at Albany-Saratoga Speedway on Friday night.

With the modifieds having the night off, the highlight of Friday night’s Fire and Rescue Night card at the historic Malta track will be the Saratoga 602 Super Nationals, a 100-lap feature that will pay $2,000 to win and $200 to take the green flag.

Invaders from throughout New York state are expected to pull in off Route 9 to challenge the likes of Connor Cleveland, Tim Hartman Jr., Andrew Buff, Pat Jones and Jack Speshock for the top prize. Hartman Jr., the 2018 track champion, had two straight DNFs to end his regular season, and would like nothing better than to get back on track with that $2,000 top prize.

Brian Calabrese picked up the biggest win of his career last year in the fall sportsman classic. He’ll also be in the field this Friday night.

In addition to the 100-lapper for sportsman, the card will feature the first annual Fall Pro Stock Classic, which will pay $5,000 to win. Trying to use their home track advantage to walk out with the 5 grand will be Josh Coonradt, Chucky Dumblewski, Kim Duell, Brandon Emigh. Jay Corbin and 16-year-old Scott Towslee, who was the hottest driver in the division during the month of August. But the high-paying race is also expected to draw many runners from Lebanon Valley, and many of Quebec’s top pro-stock competitors.

Limited sportman, street stocks and four-cylinders will also be on the Sept. 6 racing card. Warm-ups will begin at 6 p.m., with racing at 7.
