Woodhull’s Hall Of Fame Inductions Plus Street Stock ‘King Of The Bullring’ This Saturday
Story By: MEGAN DUPUY / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL,NY – This Saturday, August 31 will be the last race before the season championships.
For many classes the points are tight and a single position could make or break the drivers chance at a championship.
Swarthout Recycling is presenting the racing action. Swarthout Recycling also sponsors our annual Arnot Mall Car Show in March. Swarthout Recycling is a family owned, family operated business located in Beaver Dams, New York. Their location is strategically located for Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben County residents. With over 25 years in the business they understand the importance of continual, proactive recycling. Humans produce many pounds of waste every day through thoughtless consumerism, while not limiting their consumption or making any attempt to re-use their possessions. However, a little effort put toward recycling can prevent functional products from filling up landfills; they can begin to save the planet, one recycling act at a time.
Before the racing action on Saturday the second annual, Woodhull Raceway Hall of Fame will take place. The ceremony will kick off at 2 p.m. with cars, memorabilia, photo albums and some special guests. There will be food available for attendees to eat. There is no set time so come grab a bite to eat and share some racing memories. This event will take place outside the main gate. Those inquiring more questions about the Hall of Fame Ceremony can visit the Woodhull Raceway Hall of Fame Facebook page or contact Morgan Colegrove.
When the main gates open at 4:30pm the Jr. Fan Club has some sweet treats for the kids. There will be an ice cream social at the Jr. Fan Club behind the grandstands for kids to enjoy along with the older race fans being eligible for the ‘Senior Fan’.
The Street Stock ‘King of the Bullring’ will also be held this Saturday. The ‘King of the Bullring’ is a knockout style event. Drivers will go head to head for two laps with the loser going back to the pit area and the winner advancing to the next round. The Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks will also be going an extra 15-laps in memory of Scott Dennison. The Scott Dennison Memorial was scheduled earlier in the year but rain forced us to reschedule.
All of our racing divisions will be on hand including the Insinger Performance Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, Cummings Trucking RUSH Crate Late Models, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Woodhull Auto Supply Hobby Stocks, Johnson’s Auto Supply FWD, and Daugherty Auto Sales and Service Mini Stocks and Woodhull Warriors.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands Saturday at 4:30 for only $12 for adults 13 and up. Seniors and ages 8-12 will be $6. Our weekly Early Bird Special runs from 4:30-5:30 and offers $1 off general admission. Children 7 and under are always free at Woodhull Raceway. Free camping is offered on the speedway grounds for those wishing to make it a weekend of family, friends and dirt track racing.
The pit area will open at 3:30PM, with pit pass fees being set at $30.
