Story By: MEGAN DUPUY / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL,NY – The sea of ‘Jake Davis Memorial’ shirts flooded Woodhull Raceway Saturday as fans and drivers came to remember, Jake Davis.

20 cars made their way out on the track to compete head to head in a knockout style event. Each driver signed a special roof bought by Dgien Trucking to give to Bobby Davis, in memory of his late son, Jake Davis.

The field dwindled down quick and suddenly Billy Van Pelt and Davis were left’. The final round changed for the ‘King of the Bullring’ event. Best two out of three was the new way to win the crown.

Davis got the outside lane and walked away with the first win but then Van Pelt got the top in round two and tied up the scoreboard. Van Pelt chose the inside poker chip, putting Davis on the outside. Tony Van Pelt waved the green flag and Davis got to turn one and set the car up. Powering on the outside with the 60j machine Davis won the third match and got the crown.

It was an emotional victory lane for the Davis crew but smiles filled their faces as they yelled ‘It’s for you Jake!”
