RPW Exclusive: Remembering Brandon Pitcher

Column By: BOBBY CHALMERS / RPW – WEST LEBANON, NY – All of us at Race Pro Weekly pass along our deepest heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Lebanon Valley 358-Modified racer Brandon Pitcher, who passed away on Saturday night.

I have known the Pitcher family for a few years, being in this sport. However, I really got to know Brandon over the last year. One thing that made me smile was that he always told me how much of an avid reader of Race Pro Weekly he was. He continued to ask me what he had to do to get mentioned more in RPW.

We’d laugh about that, and one night I told him have a good run and I’d be sure to do so.

That night, he ran up front the entire 358-Modified feature and finished fifth.

The following week he came over and told me how much he loved reading his name and wanted to do it more. That was so cool to me, and now, something that will bring a smile to my face each time I think about him.

Brandon was always fun to watch, both on and off the track. He was a clean driver and someone I know his dad was proud to have following in his footsteps.

To his parents, Rob and Lynette, his fiance Brittany, son Wyatt (and another baby due in January) and all of his family and friends, all of us at RPW , or staff, and our readers, are here to support you and send our prayers. We are so sorry for your loss.

NOTE: Brandon’s calling hours will be at Wenk Funeral Home, 21 Payn Ave, Chatham, NY, from 4 to 7pm on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family is setting up a GoFundMe page for his fiancé and kids.
