Mohawk Int’l Sportsman Series Returns With Full Program Friday Night
Story By: TIM BALTZ / MOHAWK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY – HOGANSBURG, NY – After a week that saw temperatures push to the mid-90s in most areas which saw cancelation of all racing action at the speedway last week, Mohawk International Raceway drivers are cooled down and ready to heat up the speedway once again on Lazore’s Construction night.
This coming Friday night the MIR Sportsman Series will hit the track for round number two of the four race schedule. On June 21st defending track champion Brianna Ladouceur got her season turned around claiming her third career series win. Defending Series champion and current Crossroads Tobacco Sportsman points leader Shane Pecore will be among the heavy favorites to claim another win along with Ladouceur but drivers like Thomas Cook, Pete Mitchell Memorial winner Cedric Gauvreau, Zach Arquiett and a host of others will be ready for battle for the 2nd leg of the series.
The Twin Leaf Stores 358 Modified division will be back and ready for action as well after a week away. Tim Fuller still leads the points by 16 over Chris Raabe. Michael Maresca, Demetrios Drellos and Lance Willix are all enjoying solid seasons in 2019 and will look to continue their great 2019 seasons this week.
Mod Lite, Novice Sportsman and Bandits will also join the full card of racing and you’ll want to get to the speedway early to be sure you haver the best seat in the house.
Racing gets underway at 7:30pm with Canadian Money accepted at par at the main gates only. If you are traveling from Canada, remember to show your toll receipt at the main gate and receive a free bridge pass.
