When Momentum & Hard Work Meet; Cody Bleau’s Stock Is Rising At Fonda

Story By: BOBBY CHALMERS / CODY BLEAU RACING – DEFREESTVILLE, NY – There were double features Saturday night at the Fonda Speedway, and it was a great night for the Hoyenga Racing #73 team and driver Cody Bleau, as Bleau was able to secure two top 10 finishes and keep his season moving forward at the “Track of Champions.”

In the first feature at the Fonda, NY oval, Bleau missed with the setup in his DKM Cyclone chassis but was able to bring the car home with a solid ninth place finish, gaining valuable points.

“The first main was rough for us,” Bleau said. “We just didn’t have the car working the way I would have liked, but were lucky to finish where we did. In the second feature, we made up for it.”

In that main event, Cody drove the Greg’s Towing #73 from the eighth starting spot, getting as high as fourth in the race. At the end of the 30-lap event, Bleau was sitting in sixth position. He has now moved to seventh in points, just 11 markers behind Danny Varin who sits in fifth.

“I was really happy with how the car went in the second feature,” he said. “The setup and changes we did were much better compared to earlier in the night. No matter how you look at it, we had an all-around solid night.”

With two more top ten finishes, and moving up in the points, stock is really rising for the former Sportsman track champion.

“It feels really good to have momentum right now,” he said. “After the bad start we had to our season, it’s definitely picked up the spirits of everyone on the team. I couldn’t be any happier for that because my guys work so hard and its nice to get the results.”

Up next for Cody and the #73 team will be Twin 20’s for Modifieds at Fonda Speedway this Saturday. Each feature will pay $1,500-to-win for 20 laps. It will also be New York State Stock Car Association night at the track and racing is scheduled to start at 7pm.
