Brock Zearfoss Highlights Ohio Sprint Speedweek With Pair Of Fourth Place Finishes
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Brock Zearfoss’ 2019 Ohio Sprint Speedweek effort was a success. Not only did the ‘Jonestown Jet’ conclude the nine-night turned four-race schedule with a fifth place finish in the final Speedweek standings, but Zearfoss earned a pair of top-five finishes in the process.
The shortened schedule, mostly due to Mother Nature, included visits to Attica Raceway Park on June 14, Muskingum County Speedway on June 16, and Wayne County Speedway, which hosted Speedweek competition twice in four days; June 19 & June 22.
Zearfoss, driver of the Premier Motorsports/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Meckley’s Limestone Products/Berkebile Oil Company/River City Wood Products/No. 70 sprint car, highlighted All Star Circuit of Champions Speedweek action with a pair of fourth place finishes, the first during competition at Muskingum County Speedway and the second during the first of two Wayne County Speedway visits.
Unfortunately, Zearfoss’ second visit to Wayne County Speedway for the $10,000-to-win Ohio Sprint Speedweek finale did not fare as well as the first, as the former Pennsylvania Posse full-timer was forced to settle with a fifth place finish during the evening’s B-main.
“It was a pretty solid week for our team. It’s a shame we only had the opportunity to race four features, but we’ll take what we can get at this point. The weather has been a factor all season,” Brock Zearfoss explained, a former Port Royal Speedway champion and recent All Star winner in New York. “Regardless, I’m proud of my team and I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish. It’s not easy being out on the road like that for nine or ten days in a row, especially with a loss of races like we experienced. Lucky for me, I have a great group of guys who stay focused despite having so many weather distractions.”
Up next on the schedule, Brock Zearfoss and Premier Motorsports will follow the All Star Circuit of Champions trail west, ready to visit a pair of ovals in the Land of Lincoln on Friday and Saturday, June 28 & 29. Zearfoss, who is currently fifth in the All Star title chase, will visit Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., on Friday night, followed by a one-night visit to the state-of-the-art Dirt Oval at Route 66 in Joliet, Ill., on Saturday.
In addition, Brock Zearfoss plans to enter select Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek events between his All Star Circuit of Champions commitments.
