Tri Track Late Model Challenge Highlights Four-Division Show At Port Royal Saturday

Story By: JUSTIN SNYDER / PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY – PORT ROYAL, PA – Coming off the biggest weekend to date of the 2019 season, Port Royal Speedway returns with a 4-division show Saturday June 1, 2019. It’s also Camera & Autograph Night featuring early pit access for fans and Kids Bus Rides.

Headlining the night’s racing activities will be the KRS Graphics Tri-Track Late Model Challenge featuring time trials and paying $3000 to win for the River Valley Builders Super Late Models and $325 to start.

Along with the feature winners share, multiple sponsors will be providing various contingency awards throughout the night. Precision Powder Coating will be handing out two $200 gift certificates off powder coating a late model chassis to two non-qualifiers. Also Lias Tire/American Racer will be giving out a cash award to the nights hard charger. DirtonDirt.com will be handing out a $150 cash award for Fast Time. The race will feature no entry fee as well for the teams supporting the series.

The overall winner of the series, which consists of races at Bedford Speedway, Port Royal, Williams Grove and Selinsgrove will also receive a guaranteed starting spot in Bedford Speedway’s $15,000 to win Keystone Cup in September.

Also on the card will be the Selinsgrove Ford Limited LATE Models, the Penns Valley Meat Market 305 Sprint Cars and the Juniata Junction Xtreme Stocks.

In the series last visit to ‘The Speed Palace’, Devin Hart picked up the Limited LATE Model feature win over Andrew Yoder and Troy Miller. Yoder currently holds a 85 point advantage over Todd Snook and 105 point advantage over Hart in the battle for the series point title.

Ken Duke Jr. picked up the last feature win for the 305 Sprints over Jonathan Jones and Roger Irvine and he holds a narrow 5 point advantage of Jones coming into this weekend in the series point standings.

The Xtreme stocks will be making their second visit to the speedway in 2019. Brad Mitch bested Pete Leister in their only race earlier this season and he currently holds the series points lead.

The Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars are off this weekend to allow a much needed break in action following a 2 race weekend that saw Danny Dietrich and Logan Wagner pick up victories in the Bob Weikert Memorial and to allow drivers the option to compete at Mansfield Motor Speedway.
