RPW Exclusive: Van Pelt Doubles Down On Woodhull
Story By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – WOODHULL, NY – After starting 7th in the feature event, the one place Billy Van Pelt was fortunate he was able to end up was Victory Lane. Van Pelt quickly started off coming up from that 7th place starting spot to get up to 5th in 2 laps. Quickly he was able to rattle off a few more spots on the restart and get up to the runner up position
For quite a few laps Fultz and Van Pelt battled side by side for the race lead until lap 10 when Fultz slowed on the exit of turn 2. A broken rear end sidelined the Addison Eagles Club 88 of Brady Fultz getting Van Pelt the lead on lap 11. Van Pelt held off advances from Cory Costa and Ron Cartwright Jr to get his second win of the year at the High Banks.
“We were fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time,” Van Pelt explained in Victory Lane. “Thank You goes out to my crew and sponsors for which I would not be here.”
