First Top 10 Of 2019 Has Cody Bleau Eyeing An Even Better Run This Weekend At Fonda
Story By: BOBBY CHALMERS / CODY BLEAU RACING – DEFREESTVILLE, NY – It’s been an up and down start to the 2019 season for Cody Bleau, but if last week at Fonda is any indication, things are on the upswing.
After scoring an 11th place finish on opening night, the former DIRTcar Modified Top Rookie had an engine issue early in the evening of night two at Fonda which forced him to the sidelines for the night. Did that keep him down? Absolutely not.
“I don’t know what happened but thanks to Laudy (Hoyenga), we were back at Fonda last Saturday and had a good run,” Bleau said.
The good run in the feature almost didn’t happen. Due to problems in his heat race, Bleau had to start deep in the field on Saturday night, but he was undeterred. The driver of the Greg’s Towing #73 worked his way through the field and when the race was completed, Cody was sitting in 10th position. It was a great rebound for him and the entire team.
“The car was really great in the main event,” he said. “We had to start in the back after our heat finish, but we made a bunch of changes to our DKM Chassis before the feature. They helped immensely and the car just took off.”
Bleau had worked his way up to the eighth position at one point during the 30-lap event before settling for 10th at the checkers. He now sits 13th in points at Fonda after three events, just nine markers behind 10th place Craig Hanson.
Up next for Cody and the #73 team is “Dollar Night” at the Track of Champions this Saturday. Admission to the grandstands is just $1 for a great night of action. The Modifieds will take to the track for another fast-paced 30-lap main event with racing scheduled to start at 7pm.
