Autism Awareness Takes Center Stage Friday Night At The Lernerville Speedway

Story By: GARY HEEMAN / LERNERVILLE SPEEDWAY – SARVER, PA – This week, some very special things are on tap at The Action Track as our annual Autism Awareness Night combines with a re-scheduled opening night for the Fab4 Revved up with Marburger Farm Dairy.

There will fund raising activities and information on Autism throughout the evening as a raffle with racing related items will be on display and drivers will be making their way through the crowd with helmets ready for donations. All proceeds will go to the Autism Society of Pittsburgh.

Also, the first annual Dougie Tomson Autism Awareness Bus Race will be taking place during the evening’s racing action. Speaking of racing, the Fab4 featuring the Peoples Gas DIRTcar Sprints, Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models, Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds and Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stocks will hit the track for the first time in 2019. A good many weekly drivers both past and present have been out and about in the area and have been making their impact felt highlighted by wins at Port Royal Speedway from current and former Late Model champions Michael Norris and Alex Ferree, and a strong weekly start to the Sprint Car season there from three time and defending champion AJ Flick.

The Ollies Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars will be making their way to Lernerville on Friday, May 3, and there could be several invaders looking for some additional seat time this Friday night. You can purchase tickets in advance on our website at Lernerville.com
There will be some extra cash up for grabs for the Peoples Gas Sprint Car feature winners in 2019 as the Sprint to Checkers Challenge presented by FENCE by Maintenance Service ramps up this Friday night. Drivers in the top 10 in points will be able to draw to be selected as the driver of the night and should they cross the finish line first, they will see a weekly bonus. The season starts with a $200 bonus in the pot for opening night and will increase by $100 a week until the selected driver wins.
