Tim O’Brien To Carry The Family Banner In 2019; Will Run Full Season At Brockville

Story By: TIM BALTZ / BROCKVILLE ONTARIO SPEEDWAY – BROCKVILLE, ONT – Since the mid-2000s Tim O’Brien has been behind the wheel of a Modified and showed he has the talent to compete with the very best in the sport. 2019 will mark a return to the family team as he joins forces with his older brother Danny for a full season of 358 Modified action at the Brockville Ontario Speedway.

With the recent announcement of Danny’s retirement during the 2018 Loud ‘n’ Dirty Fall Nationals at Brockville it was only a natural fit for Tim to take over the seat for his brother. After beginning his career in a big block modified in 2006 Tim O’Brien battled for a track championship in at the Can Am Speedway but eventually lost to Vic Coffey. Since 2009 had Tim found himself behind the wheel of the Jim’s Performance Plus 358 Modified and found much success. A redemption in 2010 claiming the 358 Modified title at Can-Am along with a DirtCar 358 Regional Championship the same year. Tim compiled many victories at all area speedways including Mohawk, Can-Am, Cornwall and Brockville. One of his biggest victories came in 2011 where he claimed the prestigious Applefest Shootout 358 Modified title at the Brighton Speedway. Recently married to wife Jolene and now a father to son Kallen much has changed for the Kingston native and being able to work on the race car closer to home will be change of pace.

A brand-new Bicknell chassis will carry O’Brien for a full schedule of events at the Brockville Ontario Speedway in hopes of claiming his first championship. The ever-present Pat’s Radiator, the family business, will be the main sponsor of his number 8 machine along with Heather Lynn Topping, Bicknell Racing Products, Number One Speed Shock Service and Morrison Performance. O’Brien will also compete in select special events but Brockville is the main focus for the year. A full schedule of events will be announced soon.
