Justin Whittall’s 2019 Season Officially Underway; Joined PA Posse At Lincoln & Williams Grove
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / JW MOTORSPORTS – VINCENTOWN, NJ – After months of waiting, Vincentown, New Jersey’s Justin Whittall finally kicked off his 2019 season, doing so by joining the Pennsylvania Posse during visits to Lincoln Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway, respectively.
Whittall, driver of the JW Motorsports/Atlantic Utility Trailer/Brotherton Brewing Company/Pioneer Auto Body/Worldwide Bearings/No. 67 sprint car, highlighted his weekend in the Keystone State with a 14th place finish during the Williams Grove Speedway season opener on Sunday, March 17.
Although Whittall dropped outside of the top-ten, ultimately fading to 14th after starting sixth on the feature grid, it was a positive experience for the former United Racing Club (URC) traveler, and he is already looking forward to his return to the world-famous paperclip.
“We didn’t have the car where it needed to be on Sunday, but we learned a lot and we’ll use that to our advantage,” Justin Whittall explained, now a full-time Pennsylvania Posse competitor since graduating from the 360c.i. ranks. “It takes a lot of time and a lot of laps to learn how to be quick on a dry and slick racing surface. Regardless, we had fun and I’m happy.”
Whittall’s visit to Lincoln Speedway on Saturday afternoon had some mishaps, but the end result was satisfactory; salvaging an 18th place finish after being forced to compete in the afternoon’s consolation event. A cut tire during heat race action was the culprit forcing Whittall to the consolation race where he would eventually bounce ahead from ninth to finish sixth.
Up next on the schedule, Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports will make the trip to the Port Royal Speedway ‘Speed Palace’ for its season-opening program on Saturday, March 23.
