Brock Zearfoss Scores Podium Run During Port Royal Opener

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / PREMIER MOTORSPORTS – JONESTOWN, PA – Since returning home from the Sunshine State, the ‘Jonestown Jet’ Brock Zearfoss has yet to finish outside of the top ten. In fact, Zearfoss’ first three starts in Central Pennsylvania all resulted in finishes no worse than ninth, all of which highlighted with an impressive charge from 13th to finish sixth during Lincoln Speedway’s season-opening Icebreaker.

Impressive enough, Zearfoss’ streak of top-ten finishes extended during the recent weekend, doing so by finishing third during Port Royal Speedway’s season-opener on Saturday, March 23.

“I can’t say enough about this team right now. Things are clicking and we are having a lot of fun. That’s making things easy for us,” Zearfoss explained, a former Port Royal Speedway track champion. “It was pretty fun to get up on the highside and bang the boards a little bit on Saturday. I’ve always been really comfortable at Port Royal Speedway. We really enjoy racing there and I’m excited to get the opportunity to race there with the All Stars in a few weeks.”

The pilot of the Premier Motorsports/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Meckley’s Limestone Products/Berkebile Oil Company/River City Wood Products/No. 70 sprint car started fourth on the Port Royal Speedway grid. Despite countless attempts to blast his way to the front, actually making contact with the outside retaining wall on more than one occasion while utilizing the very topside of the speedway, the nearby-Jonestown native was forced to settle for third.

The podium performance is Zearfoss’ best result of the season, thus far.

Brock Zearfoss will continue his 2019 campaign with another round of Central Pennsylvania competition on Friday and Saturday, March 29 & 30. The ‘Jet’ will visit Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway, respectively, keeping his focus on the local scene until his All Star schedule resumes on April 11.
