Brent Marks Rallies To Finish 12th At Silver Dollar Speedway With The Outlaws
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRENT MARKS RACING – MYERSTOWN, PA – Despite the recent weekend ending on a frustrating note, actually losing a Last Chance Showdown transfer position at Stockton Dirt Track after contact with another competitor broke Marks’ front end, the ‘Myerstown Missile’ Brent Marks put together a solid performance at Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday, March 15, and ended his evening with a rally from 17th to finish 12th.
Although not a top-ten performance, the finish was important, giving Marks and his Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car team a sense of momentum as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series West Coast Swing continues on Friday and Saturday, March 22 & 23, at Ocean Speedway and Placerville Speedway, respectively.
Marks qualified for main event action at Silver Dollar Speedway by finishing fifth during his respective heat race. The Myerstown, Pa., native was in order to use a provisional starting position at Stockton, but a last minute review of the car allowed the team to notice a hole in the radiator; the team surrendered their provisional.
“That was a demanding weekend, to say the least. We got banged around a little bit on Saturday, but those things are going to happen,” Brent Marks explained regarding his visit to Stockton. “When you are racing against that level of competition, there are no soft spots. You have to race hard for every position. Unfortunately for us, we got beat up a little bit at Stockton. Friday night was better, but still not quite where we want to be. We’ll get things turned around soon.”
Brent Marks will enter the Ocean and Placerville events 17th in the current World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings.
