RPW Exclusive: Accord Speedway Makes Modified Rule Change For 2019
Column By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – Accord, NY – The Accord Speedway posted today on Social Media that a change will be coming to the Modified class in 2019. The major change is a motor rule change. The speedway is offering 3 different options to keep the class more “economical” for all drivers. Below is the entire post:
“In an effort to keep the speedway’s modified division as economical as possible promoter Gary Palmer has announced three engine options.
Modified Engine Rules-2019
Option 1
Any engine-big block or small block with the following exceptions:
No aluminum blocks
No in-line valves
No staggered valves
Dry sump oil systems allowed
Fuel-Alcohol or racing fuel
Weight 2400 lbs.
Option 2
358 Spec
Weight 2350 lbs-Weight will be adjusted if necessary after April practice dates (4/12 & 4/19)

Spec Headers
Spec Heads
Fuel-no alcohol
Option 3
W16 DIRTcar engine, following DIRTcar rules
