Short Track Super Series Kicks Off 2019 At Motorsports Show This Weekend
Story By: BRETT DEYO / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – OAKS, PA – Another outstanding season for the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco starts in Oaks, Pa., this weekend.
The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center provides the setting for 240,000 square feet of ‘nothing but racing’ with the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show Fueled By Sunoco and Distributed By Insinger Performance. The show runs Friday, Jan. 18 through Sunday, Jan. 20.
A vast 600-square-foot display is planned for the Short Track Super Series in Booths 216-218 and 316-318.
Three-time STSS Halmar International North Region champion Andy Bachetti of Sheffield, Mass., will show off his No. 4 and Jeremy Smith of Triangle, N.Y., displays his No. 46. Both Bachetti and Smith were winners in STSS Modified competition last season: Bachetti won his first Short Track SuperNationals at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, N.Y., while Smith brought home the checkered at Afton (N.Y.) Motorsports Park in July.
Series sponsor Bob Hilbert Sportswear has produced new-for-2019 Short Track Super Series tees and hoodies. They go on sale for the first time over the weekend.
Registration will be open for STSS Modified and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman full-season memberships.
New schedules will be available for all ‘19 STSS-sanctioned events.
Drivers may sign up for the American Racer Cup presented by Sunoco. A pair of American Racer tires will be given away, one for Modified and another for Sportsman, via a draw of registered drivers through Jan. 20. The drawing will take place on Sunday and will be shown on Facebook Live via The American Racer Cup page.
