RPW Exclusive: CD Beauchamp Set To Invade Plattsburgh, Defend Cornwall & Seek First DIRTcar Series Title In ’19
Column By: TIM BALTZ / RPW – ORMSTOWN, QUE – After a breakthrough 2018 season that saw this Ormstown Quebec native win 9 times including an epic last corner pass to win the Super Dirt Week Pro Stock Championship in his second try, CD Beauchamp has big plans for 2019.
With 5 wins on the year at his home track at Cornwall Motor Speedway eventually securing his first track championship Beauchamp will be back once again to defend that title along with a very busy schedule of racing which will now include a Saturday night run at the Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway where Beauchamp says he will enjoy since it’s close to home along with a plan to run for the 2019 DirtCar Pro Stock Series title.
“We decided since Plattsburgh was pretty close that we would run there Saturdays and we haven’t lost a race there, we’ve won both times we have been there.”
The two wins Beauchamp was referring to are the DirtCar Pro Stock Series races he has won at the Plattsburgh oval in 2017 and 2018.
With a solid outing in the 2018 DirtCar Pro Stock Series Beauchamp will once again plan for a full run for the 2019 series title. Beauchamp won 4 times, the most of any driver at tracks including Cornwall and Plattsburgh along with Oswego and Brockville in back to back weeks to close out the season.
Despite a solid late season charge for the title he would come up just 39 points shy to eventually series champion and fellow Cornwall Motor Speedway competitor Jocelyn Roy.
With 9 total feature wins, a Cornwall track title and a Super Dirt Week Pro Stock championship highlighting his 2018 year. CD Beauchamp has a lot of momentum on his side and expects big things for the coming year.
