Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour Unveils 2019 Event Schedule

Story By: JEFF CIGLICH / DIRT MODIFIED NOSTALGIA TOUR – NORTH AUGUSTA, ONT – The Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour enters it’s third season in 2019 and will embark on it’s most ambitious campaign to date with some return appearances, a host of new venues and five race mini series with some old friends.

The DMNT offers exciting racing action with both authentic vintage cars of the past as well as more modern “replica” machines which utilize current chassis and safety equipment with steel shells such as Coupe’s, Coach’s, Pinto’s, Vega’s etc

The action begins in the 17 race schedule where it left off in 2018 with the season opener and the first of two appearances at the Land Of Legends Speedway in Canandaigua, NY on Saturday, June 1st.

The DMNT then makes it first ever swing through the Southern Tier on Friday June 14th and Saturday June 15th at the Penn Can and 5 Mile Point Speedway’s. The weekend is capped off on Sunday, June 16th as the DMNT returns once again to the Utica Rome Speedway.

The month of June is then capped off by the first of two visit’s to the Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway. Airborne being one of the original tracks the DMNT saw during it’s inaugural season back in 2017.

July will see the series in action only twice but at two of the most popular venues on the 2019 schedule when vintage style racing returns to the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways on Friday the 12th and Saturday the 13th.

August will see 7 shows on the calendar beginning on Friday, August 2nd at the Albany Saratoga Speedway before moving on to the Valley of Speed, Lebanon Valley Speedway on Saturday August 3rd.

The following week the action moves from the Capital District back to Central NY as the second and final Land Of Legends date on Saturday, August 10th is followed up by Weedsport Speedway on Sunday August 11th.

And then the DMNT teams up for 5 consecutive races with the Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club in late August and early September. Both series will run their full points during the events with separate points kept for the five race “Vintage Super Series” with Champions crowned in two separate classes. First up will be the Mohawk International Raceway on Friday August 23rd with the expectation this could see the largest field of the season in the Northeast. The action then heads to Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway on Saturday, August 24th for second leg of the VSS before heading north of the border to the Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday August 25th for round three. The Cornwall date will mark the DMNT’s first ever appearance in Canada.

September will see both the DMNT and the EOVSCC return after a year’s absence to the Nasty Track of the North, the Can Am Speedway in LaFargeville, NY. on September 6th and the 7th for two big nights of racing to determine the “Super Series” winner as well as once again running for their full points for the respective series’. The Can Am Speedway has hosted the EOVSCC many times over the past several years and was the birthplace of the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour when it held it’s first event there back in 2017.

After all the action all season on mostly larger 4/10 and 1/2 miles the 2019 season will come to an end on another of the original DMNT venues when Champions are crowned at the 1/3rd mile Paradise Speedway in Geneva, NY on Saturday September 14th.

The DMNT will also see the Champlain Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Club run it’s own separate points at several races on the schedule which should ensure healthy fields of cars thoughout the season.
