DIRTcar Northeast (358-Mods, Sportsman, Pro Stocks) Schedule Released For 2019
Story By: JOE GRABIANOWSKI / DIRTCAR – CONCORD, NC – DIRTcar Northeast is known as the backbone of dirt racing in the Northeast United States and Eastern Canada. The strength of the overall schedule clearly exhibits the success of the DIRTcar ladder system. The DIRTcar 358 Modified, DIRTcar Sportsman Modified, and DIRTcar Pro Stock schedules have been released for the 2019 season.
Highlights on the schedule include the 11th annual Northeast Fall Nationals at Brockville Ontario Speedway, where all three Series will name their 2019 Champions. After the success of the 2018 World Short Track Championships at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, both the Sportsman Modifieds and Pro Stocks will return to take on the Carolina clay in early November. October 8-13 are a dirt racing fan’s dream as all four DIRTcar Northeast Series are in action across four race tracks during NAPA Super DIRT Week at Oswego Speedway.
358 Modifieds
2019 brings the return of a unified 358 Modified Series, as there will no longer be Northern or Southern Regions. The unified Series comes as a great benefit to tracks, drivers, and fans, as the streamlined schedule will allow for large, competitive fields racing across the Northeast from May to October. Utica-Rome Speedway launches the Series on Sunday, May 12. DIRTcar sanctioned facilities Can-Am Speedway, Fulton Speedway, Cornwall Motor Speedway, and Mohawk International Raceway welcome the newly combined 358 Modified Series throughout the season. Then the schedule mashes the throttle at NAPA Super DIRT Week when Utica-Rome Speedway, Weedsport Speedway, and Brewerton Speedway host a trio of back-to-back races October 8-10. On Saturday, October 12 at Oswego Speedway, the 358 Modified Series race for 150 laps around the historic 5/8-mile speedway for a grand prize of $20,000. Finally, the 358 Modified Series Champion will be crowned at Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday, October 19 as a part of the Northeast Fall Nationals weekend.
Sportsman Modifieds
The massive number of active DIRTcar Sportsman Modified drivers in the northeast is staggering. Three regions have been designated to compete for the regular season, until the Series combines during the Fall Championship. In 2019, Land of Legends Raceway will kickoff the Fall Championship on Saturday, September 28. Eight race tracks double up with two shows on the schedule. That shows the tremendous commitment our DIRTcar sanctioned tracks have for the Sportsman Modifieds. Once again, the Sportsman Modifieds will support the Big-Block Modifieds on Sunday, October 13 at NAPA Super DIRT Week on dirt surface at Oswego Speedway. Back by popular demand, the Sportsman Modifieds also co-headline the World Short Track Championship October 31 – November 2 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
Pro Stocks
The full-fender frenzy of the DIRTcar Pro Stocks is sure to entertain race fans across the Northeast and Canada in 2019 with their dynamic schedule. Cornwall Motor Speedway launches the Championship hunt on Sunday, July 7 followed by the high-speed Lebanon Valley Speedway hosts the next Series race on July 20. From there, Weedsport Speedway, Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway, and Albany-Saratoga Speedway all host Pro Stock Series events. The DIRTcar Pro Stocks are once again be a part of two marquee events in 2019. Oswego Speedway and NAPA Super DIRT Week welcome the division back in 2019 as do the World Short Track Championships and The Dirt Track at Charlotte. The DIRTcar Pro Stock Championship is decided at the Northeast Fall Nationals at Brockville Ontario Speedway.
