Entry Count Surpasses 700 For 34th Tulsa Shootout With Deadline Looming
Story By: BRYAN HULBERT / TULSA SHOOTOUT – TULSA, OK – For teams looking to enter the 34th annual Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout at the discounted rate, time is running out as the deadline to get the $25 savings per class is Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
Entries can be submitted online at http://www.tulsashootout.com 24-hours a day. Those who wish to enter by mail can send entries to 1140 S. 83rd East Ave. Tulsa, OK 74112 or can call (918) 838-3777 to enter, Monday-Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (CT).
With the discount deadline in sight, the number of entries for the “Mecca of Micros” has shot past the 700 mark with 715 among the seven classes offered.
Leading the entry count so far is Stock Non-Wing at 155 drivers making the trip from 113 Cities scattered across 22 States. Overall, 356 drivers from 227 Cities, 31 States, and two Countries have entered the 34th annual Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout. Of those entered, 204 are running in two or more classes with 60 in four divisions.
A quick scan of the entry list finds several drivers taking advantage of the extra laps to prepare for the 33rd Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals presented by General Tire. So far, 8 drivers will take part in both events, including three-time Tulsa Shootout winner, Brady Bacon. Another former Shootout winner, Chance Morton is also on the list as well as Chad Winfrey, who topped the Shootout twice in 1993 and 1997 in Quad competition.
Taking place at Tulsa Expo Raceway, located inside the River Spirit Expo Center, the 2019 edition of the Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout moves in starting with Early Parking on December 31, 2018, and goes green on January 2, 2019, with racing through January 5, 2018. With entry to the “Mecca of Micros” opening on September 25, a field of 197 entries has already poured in from 100 drivers. Those entered so far represent 76 Municipalities, 18 States, and two Countries.

The lineup for the 2019 event will include A-Class (Wing, Non-Wing, and Restricted), Outlaw (Wing and Non-Wing), and Junior Sprints as well as the new Xcel 600cc Modifieds for an event run of seven classes.
New for the 2019 event in all classes, RaceCeivers will be mandatory. They will be available at the event. Frequency will be 454.000.
