Racing Community Rallies To Raise $7,000-Plus For Children’s Center
Story By: ONE ZEE TEES, HALMAR FRIESEN RACING & DKM FABRICATION – SPRAKERS, NY – One Zee Tees, Halmar-Friesen Racing and DKM Fabrication joined forces to raise funds and awareness for the Crossroads Center for Children.
On Tuesday, the trio announced $6,100 had been raised by auctioning off a special C.D. Coville tribute body run by Stewart Friesen earlier this season at Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, N.Y.
An additional $1,000 had been raised by auctioning off other HFR panels this year, for a total of $7,100.
Crossroads Center for Children is a not-for-profit center located in Schenectady County offering services for both students with disabilities and their typically developing peers. Children are enrolled in the programs for special education services to prepare individuals with and without developmental disabilities for life success within their family and community.
“Our son Parker was diagnosed with Autism a year-and-a-half ago,” Halmar-Friesen Racing driver Stewart Friesen said. “He has been receiving in-home ABA therapy provided by the Crossroads Center for Children for more than a year. Their team has done amazing things for Parker and many other children in their programs.
“We are honored to be able to help and support them.”
