Quaker Steak & Lube, or The Lube(r) to loyalists, is the award-winning casual dining concept known for their Best Wings USA and over 25 signature sauces, is fully prepped and geared as the lead sponsor for the trend setting 12th Annual Dirt Track Heroes Car Show to take place at the Phillipsburg, New Jersey Mall, located on Route 22 East. The popular event is set to take place with some new wrinkles in this edition of the show from March 3rd to March 9th, 2019. Quaker Steak & Lube, which opened in Phillipsburg, New Jersey in August of 2014, has been a strong supporter of the multi-division race car show for the past few years and are extremely pleased to once again lend their support to the popular annual racing oriented show.
The original Quaker Steak restaurant was built in 1974 in an abandoned gas station, decorated with license plates, auto related items and old muscle cars. Originally a “cook-your-own-steak” establishment, The Lube’s signature dish is now its fabulous chicken wings and the wide variety of sauces used to season them. The name is a play on that of the motor oil company Quaker State. There are over 55 restaurant locations, operating in eastern Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Colorado, Louisiana and Florida as well as western and central Pennsylvania. The Pohatcong Township (Phillipsburg, NJ) Quaker Steak & Lube is located at 1304 US Route 22, Phillipsburg, NJ, and welcomes all race fans and families to stop by their location when visiting the New Jersey area to be re-charged and re-fueled with some of the best food in the local area.
The 12th Annual Quaker Steak & Lube Dirt Track Heroes Car Show has a busy seven days planned with opening day set for Sunday, March 3rd. Race cars from a multitude of series and divisions and show cars from street rods to drag cars will be on display with a full week of nightly special events and interviews. The 2018 edition of the show produced more than 300 driver and owner interviews throughout the week. In 2018, there were 141 entries for the event. The popular round table discussions return and expanded as many of the legendary drivers reunite to share special and unique stories that took place at the speedways on and off the track. With this being the twelfth year of the show’s existence, the management and staff of the event are reaching out to all avenues of racing to become involved with the show.
Taking over the reigns of the show under the auspices of Bob and Donna Miller, will be Justin Beltrame. With the show, Beltrame is a natural fit to take over coordinating the show events from Ed and Steve Pados, who step back into the role as consultants with the Millers in taking the show to new heights now and into the future. In reaching out to Bob Miller he stated, “The Dirt Track Heroes Show has been special for those of us who have been involved with it from the beginning when it was just a series of phone call, emails and finally getting together to lay out a format for s successful show. The Pados Brothers took the bull by the horns and have been able to carry out the mission and the goal of the show and they have done so in a big way.” Miller further added, “The Pados Brothers came to me a couple of years ago and reluctantly told me it was time to pass the torch to someone with new ideas and fresher legs while still keeping the concept of the show intact. They also said they had someone who was more than capable to make the show better. They also agreed to stay on and assist the new coordinator as consultants. That being said, Justin Beltrame, who has been part of the show since it’s inception in a lesser capacity, will be the new coordinator for the show in 2019 and Donna and I and the Pados Brothers feel it is a necessary step for the longevity of the show.”
Ed Pados also referenced the changes when he was contacted. Pados stated, “Now that Steve and I have reached the plus seventy mark, we felt it was necessary to bring in new quality people who share the same ideas of the past, present and future of racing with all of us involved. Justin, with his vast knowledge of the local speedways and being mentored by my brother at a few speedways, is the perfect fit to assume the duties and take the show into the future.” Pados added, “We have enjoyed a great relationship with the Millers and we are not going away, just stepping back to allow new blood to take the show to the next level. We wish Justin well and know the show is in excellent hands with Justin taking over the controls.”
Justin Beltrame is looking forward to the new task in front of him and remarked, “I want to thank Bob and Donna Miller for having the faith in me to carry on the great history of the Dirt Track Heroes Show. The show has been an off-season staple for the racing community and will continue to carry much of the same format as in the past with honoring the past legends of racing and the speedways they competed and made their names in racing. We will continue to salute and honor the current speedways and the new rising stars in racing as well as the various racing series.” Beltrame further stated, “I have worked with Steve and Ed Pados for many years and we carry a longtime friendship in racing as well as personal. Their valuable assistance in continuing with the show will keep us all focused in keeping the Dirt Track Heroes Show a benchmark in the Tri-State area.
The show offers a large display of racing memorabilia, collectibles and photos from all of the historical groups for race fans to reflect back on their favorite moments of their love for racing. The show remains absolutely FREE to the public.
