Fierce Battle For Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Crown Jewel Cup Ends This Weekend

Story By: JEREMY SHIELDS / LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL DIRT SERIES – BATAVIA, OH – After a fierce battle all season long, the ASi Racewear Crown Jewel Cup – Presented by DirtonDirt.com will be decided this weekend with the 38th Annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship presented by Optima Batteries.

Five of the nation’s top dirt late model drivers are locked into a spectacular battle for the coveted bonus, with just sixty-five points separating the top-five in Crown Jewel Cup standings.

Bobby Pierce leads the current Crown Jewel Cup standings heading into the season finale at Portsmouth Raceway Park this weekend. Jonathan Davenport is a close second and has a 15-point lead over Scott Bloomquist. Jimmy Owens and Earl Pearson Jr. complete the top-five.

The ASi Racewear Crown Jewel Cup -Presented by DirtonDirt.com will award points to drivers at the events, within the series schedule, that pay $20,000 or more to the winner. The driver that maintains perfect attendance throughout the season and earns the most points, within these events, will receive a $10,000 bonus at the championship awards banquet. The drivers who finish second through fifth in the Crown Jewel Cup will earn $5,000, $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 in cash, respectively.
