Afton Motorsports Park Announces 2019 Rules Meeting Date

Story By: JR KENNERUP / AFTON MOTORSPORTS PARK – AFTON, NY – Afton Motorsports Park track promoter Ronnie Ford has announced a date for the 2019 rule meetings for divisions that will be racing at the track this upcoming season.

Wednesday night October 24th is the date with the meeting starting at 6:30 pm and it will take place at the Afton River Club Restaurant & Lounge, which is one half mile north of the speedway on Route 41 in Afton.

” Right now for sure we are racing Modifieds and Crate Sportsman on a weekly basis and people from those divisions do not need to attend the meeting, but if they would like to attend, they are more than welcomed to ” said Ford. ” What I am looking for is interested people who are looking to race in the other divisions, like for example Front Wheel Drive Four Cylinders. I have had many of those people calling me to race weekly at AMP, October 24th is the time for those people to show up and show us the support. ”

Soon after the meeting is completed a decision and announcement will be made on what divisions will be making up the 2019 weekly racing card.

Ford also has announced that the 2018 racing banquet will be taking place on a Saturday evening in January 2019, also taking place at the Afton River Club. Once a firm date is set between AMP and Afton River Club officials, the official information will be released.

Also at the rule meetings attendees will be able to look at and touch the all new real clay surface that will be applied to the track for the 2019 season. ” The new clay, it is the real stuff, unlike what we had on the track last year. No other track in the area has this type of excellent clay, that is how good it is, I am excited just talking about it ” said Ford.

Ford is also working on the 2019 racing schedule and that will be released shortly.
