Williams Grove Hosts Al Hamilton Tribute Dirt Classic 410 Sprint Qualifier Friday
Story By: SHAWN BROUSE / WILLIAMS GROVE SPEEDWAY – MECHANICSBURG, PA – Williams Grove Speedway returns to action this Friday, September 14 at 7:30 pm with The Al Hamilton Tribute Dirt Classic Qualifier for the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars paying $5,077 to win as part of the 2018 Hoosier Diamond Series.
Presented by Planet Fitness, the winner of the Al Hamilton Tribute Dirt Classic Qualifier will earn a guaranteed starting spot in the upcoming Lincoln Speedway Dirt Classic.
The HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprints are also on the September 14 racing card, featured in another Mahoney’s Plumbing and Heating Summer Series event boasting an increased purse.
Time trials for the 410 sprints will begin at 7: 30 pm.
Prior to the racing action, as a tribute to Hall of Fame car owner Al Hamilton and his famed No. 77 sprint car, several of his former drivers will be on hand for a meet and greet in the infield from 6 – 7 pm.
Drivers expected to be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs along with Hamilton himself include: Todd Shaffer, Greg Hodnett, Lance Dewease, Fred Rahmer, Dave Calaman, Ed Zirkle, Steve Siegel, Aaron Ott and Keith Kauffman.
A live Facebook broadcast on Beer Hill Gang TV with Hamilton and some of his drivers will also take place from 6 – 7 pm.
Adult general admission for the show is $18 with students ages 13 – 20 admitted for just $10.
