Special Awards Sweeten Pot For Super DIRT Week Competitors

Story By: JOE GRABIANOWSKI / DIRTCAR – OSWEGO, NY – This afternoon race teams across the Northeast and beyond will begin loading into the grounds at Oswego Speedway for the most anticipated event of the year, NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLVII. With a total purse in excess of $350,000, drivers across four divisions will be looking to pad their pockets with cash and prizes from the long list of contingency and special award partners.

In addition to the long-time regulars, several new sponsor have come aboard this year, including Fastline Performance and the Sign Shop at Kinney’s.

Fastline Performance, from Chadwicks, NY, is sponsoring the Pole Award for the DIRTcar Pro Stock Championship, as well as the Outside Pole Award for the 358 Modified and the Sportsman Features. Fastline Performance is your largest Fox Shock Motorsports dealer, used by many past Super DIRT Winners and Champions.

Presenting the Pole Award for the Sportsman Championship at Oswego is the Sign Shop at Kinney’s. Located in Oneida, NY, the Sign Shop at Kinney’s is your one-stop shop for business advertising — owned by Paul Kinney, multi-winner on the Empire Super Sprints circuit.

The Outside Pole Award for the Big-Block Modifieds is sponsored by Dig Safely NY 811, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to protect underground utility facilities and help do-it-yourself home owners and professional excavators performing digging projects safely.

The North East Stock Car Old Timers, NESCOT is back to sponsor the Non-Qualifiers Race Winner Award for the Big-Blocks, the Sportsman, and the Pro Stocks.

Bart Contracting, a high-end commercial and residential builder and long-time supporter of DIRTcar Racing, returns for a second year as sponsor of Sunday’s Billy Whittaker Cars 200 Hard-Luck Award for the Big-Block Modifieds; while the esteemed Big-Block Modified racing news source, Dirt Track Digest, awards the Last Car in the Field (the 41st starter) with $500.
