Chevrolet Performance Returns To Super DIRT Week As Sponsor Of Sportsman Championship

Story By: JOE GRABIANOWSKI / DIRTCAR – CONCORD, NC – DIRTcar Racing is pleased to welcome back Chevrolet Performance as title sponsor of the NAPA Super DIRT Week Sportsman Modified main event, the Chevrolet Performance 75, on Sunday, October 7, 2018.

With a strong foundation in racing for over 100 years, Chevrolet has been a long-time supporter of DIRTcar Racing and NAPA Super DIRT Week. Having sponsored the legendary Northeast event for many years, this marks their third consecutive year as title sponsor of the Sportsman Modified Championship.

Chevrolet Performance is the factory source for high-performance parts from power-adding components such as aluminum cylinder heads and roller camshafts to virtually everything else you need to build an engine or facilitate an engine swap.

The Sportsman Modifieds will first take the track at Oswego Speedway on Wednesday, October 3 at 3 p.m., during opening rounds of practice.

They will have a break in the action at the 5/8-mile oval on Thursday only to return with a practice session Friday at 1:35 p.m., followed by time trails at 2:15 p.m., locking the top six into Sunday’s Chevrolet Performance 75. All cars will have a second chance to lock into the field in the 15-lap qualifiers during Friday Night Lights.

The Sportsman Modified Last Chance Showdown will run on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m.

The Chevrolet Performance 75 takes the green flag on the final day of NAPA Super DIRT Week, Sunday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.

NAPA Super DIRT Week will kick off with early parking for campers at Oswego Speedway on Sunday, September 30. Early Bird tech inspection for all classes and competitors starts on Monday, October 1. On-track activities will begin shortly after the procession of cars through the streets of Oswego on Wednesday, October 3 at roughly 12 p.m.
