Tony Stewart Earns Top-Five During All Star Sprints Action At The ‘Valley of Speed’

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TONY STEWART RACING – BROWNSBURG, IN – A weekend nearly washed away by Mother Nature, losing action at Utica-Rome Speedway on Friday and Orange County Fair Speedway on Saturday, Tony Stewart finally returned to the driver’s seat of his familiar Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Textron Off Road/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/No. 14 sprint car and entered competition at the Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, N.Y., on Sunday, August 19, joining the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 during their lone Upstate New York visit of the season.

Certainly capitalizing on his lone night of competition, Smoke earned a top-five performance at the ‘Valley of Speed,’ finishing fourth, officially, after starting ninth on the evening grid. The fourth place performance was hard-fought, forced to do battle with national rising star and full-time All Star, Carson Macedo, in the process.

For Smoke, the top-five finish bumped his season top-five total to 18 in 52 starts, now with a grand total of 28 top-ten finishes during a mix of 360c.i. and 410c.i. appearances.

“That was a lot of fun. Any time you have a good enough car to battle near the front against guys like Carson Macedo is a great thing,” Tony Stewart explained, who is the owner of the All Star Circuit of Champions. “It was a great night at Lebanon Valley Speedway. I’m excited to hopefully return next season.”

As the only confirmed date on Tony Stewart’s upcoming weekend schedule, the Columbus, Ind., native will continue his 2018 campaign back in action with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1, this time at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa., on Thursday, August 23.
