Modifieds Are Set To Light It Up At New Egypt’s Firecracker 40 Saturday Night

Story By: MIKE WISNIEWSKI / NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY – NEW EGYPT, NJ – On Saturday, July 7 at New Egypt Speedway, the mighty Modifieds are set to light up the dirt oval with the running of the Firecracker 40 presented by Pakenham Motorsports.

The extra distance 40-lap Modified contest will headline the race card as the month of July at the Ocean County facility is set to feature several big events. Pakenham Motorsports drivers Dominick Buffalino and Rich Rutski will be competing against the likes of David VanHorn, Billy Pauch, Jr., Ryan Godown, Danny Bouc, Ryan Krachun, Kevin Vaclavicek, John McClelland, Brandon Grosso, PJ Oliver, Matt Stangle, JR Fulper, Davey Sammons and more.

In addition, the USAC East Coast Wingless Sprint Cars will be making their only 2018 appearance at New Egypt Speedway. Steven Drevicki, Chandler Leiby, Joey Biasi, Jr., Eddie Strada, Ryan Quackenbush, Mark Bitner, Ryan Godown, Larry McVay and others are expected entrants. Drivers from New Egypt Speedway’s Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars division such as Eric Jennings, Heidi Hedin, Karl Freyer, Jermain Godshall and more are likely to be on hand as well. The Crate Modifieds, 4-Cylinders and Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club round out the agenda.

On Saturday, July 7, the pit gates open at 4:00 p.m. and the grandstand turnstiles unlock at 5:00 p.m. Hot laps get started at 6:00 p.m. with racing getting underway at 7:00 p.m. Admission to the grandstand is $25 for adults, $23 for seniors 65 and older, $15 for teens 12-15, $15 for military personal and their spouses with ID, and Kids 11 & under are FREE. Pit admission is $30 with a New Egypt Speedway license and $40 with no license.

New Egypt Speedway is located on Route 539 just minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the New Jersey Turnpike. A racy 7/16-mile D-shaped dirt oval, New Egypt Speedway serves Garden State race fans with some of the best competition in the country. The grandstands are fully wheelchair accessible with wide, clear, and well-groomed walkways.
