Modified Mania On Tap Friday Night At Lernerville

Story By: GARY HEEMAN / LERNERVILLE SPEEDWAY – SARVER, PA – The Modified Tour makes it’s return following an extended hiatus from The Action Track on Friday night and will take center stage as an entire evening of Modifieds of all different sorts grace the clay. Whether its the Modifieds of the Northeastern variety, the E-Mod type or Vintage style, there’s something for every Modified fan as five a five division show choc full of them will unfold to cap off a three event night week at Lernerville.

A PAIR OF KING’S AT THE TOP; WILLIAMSON MAKES RETURN

Coming into Friday night, The Modified Tour has seen action on five nights with Erick Rudolph winning two main events thus far. Rudolph is currently the points leader at Ransomville Speedway (NY) in their 358 division and his attendance on Friday night would seem doubtful. However, current Lernerville points leader Rex King Jr. is also the current leader in the tour point standings and will be in search of his fifth victory at The Action Track in 2018. Rex King Sr. lies less than 20 markers behind in the current standings while Dave Murdick, currently second in the Lernerville standings, comes into the night five points behind King Sr. Defending Track Champion Mat Williamson will join the festivities on Friday night and has a Modified Tour win at Eriez Speedway on May 27.

The “Beasts from the Northeast” will run a $2,000 to win, 35 lap main event and will start 26 cars. The weekly drivers from the Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds will also be earning Lernerville season championship points simultaneously on Friday night.

In addition to The Modified Tour, fans can look forward to a $600 to win E-Mod program, an appearance by the first year Elite Modified Tour, the first visit of the year from the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds where weekly Modified competitor Garrett Krummert has been red hot as of late, and rounding out the program will be the Western PA Vintage Modifieds and their “Thunder on DIRT” series.

Pit gates will open at 4 PM with grandstands opening at 5 PM and racing starting at 7:30 PM. Adult general admission is $15, Seniors $12, Students ages 11-17 are admitted for $10 and children 10 and under are free. Pit passes are available for $25 for DIRTcar Members and #30 for Non Members.
