Neil Stratton Rebounds After Bad Draw Friday Night At Albany-Saratoga
Story By: MANDEE PAUCH / STRATTON RACING – BENNINGTON, VT – Neil Stratton and the Stratton Racing team are making strides and taking notes at their Friday night home track, Albany-Saratoga Speedway.
After a month of struggling at the 4/10-mile, Stratton and his team were able to rebound and post a 12th place finish Friday night under the lights.
Unfortunately, Friday evening was a draw show for the modified regulars, which ended up not being in Stratton’s favor.
“We drew one of the worst numbers possible,” laughed Stratton. “We started last in the heat and drove up to sixth.”
Stratton’s sixth-place finish lined him up on the outside of the eighth row for the main event.
After a bad draw, Stratton was able to rebound and maneuver his way forward and click off a couple spots during the 35-lap main event.
“The car was alright,” he said. “The track was pretty slippery. We missed on the setup a little but thankfully the car is in one piece. We ended up 12th.”
Neil’s father, Hector, was scheduled to race Friday evening but due to damage on the car from a few days prior during ‘The Tribute’ race, Hector was unable to get the car turned around in time for Friday night’s show.
Both Stratton’s are all set and will be back behind the wheel this Friday night at Albany-Saratoga Speedway for a regular points race.
