Fred Rahmer Jr. Eyes Back-To-Back Thunder Victories Tuesday Night At Grandview

Story By: BOB MILLER / THUNDER ON THE HILL – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Hot off his first ever win at the Grandview Speedway last August, Freddie Rahmer, Jr. of Salfordville, PA is returning to the “Hill” next Tuesday night, July 3 to defend his $5,000 victory. But Tuesday night, the stakes are higher with $7,000 going to the winner of the 35-lap 410 Sprint Pennsylvania Speed Week Series main event.

This exciting doubleheader event is part of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series and is presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings. Joining the 410 Sprints will be the popular NASCAR 358 Modifieds competing in qualifying events leading up to the $3,000 to win 30 lap feature that is a NASCAR point race. Gates open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM.

Advance tickets are on sale now and may be ordered by calling 443-513-4456. Please provide your name and the number of tickets requested. Tickets may be picked up and paid for on race night after 4:00 PM. Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 4:30 PM, one-half hour before the sale of General Admission tickets. Advance tickets will be available until 9 AM on race day. General Admission tickets go on sale at 5 PM.

In last year’s July event, NASCAR driver Kyle Larson made a rare dirt track appearance, his first visit to Grandview Speedway and came home the winner to the delight of the crowd.

For July 3, Freddie Rahmer Jr will have his hands full with challenges Greg Hodnett, Danny “Double D” Dietrich, Ryan Smith, Alan Krimes, Brandon Rahmer, JJ Grasso, Lucas Wolfe, Brock Zearfoss and Ryan Taylor to name a few.

The Grandview Speed Week event features a 35-lap Sprint Car A-Main — the fifth race of a ten-race stretch for the winged warriors. Drivers from across the region will compete for a $7,000 winner’s share. Tenth place will pay $1,050 with $400 to start the A-main. Non-qualified cars will be rewarded with $125.

Time Trials for the 410 Sprint Cars will open the show on Tuesday, July 3 at 7:30 PM. The pit gates will open at 2:30 PM and the Grandstands will open at 5:00 PM. Fans can up-close to the drivers and their mighty machines with the Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet kicking off at 5:00 PM.

General Admission Adult tickets are $28, Children ages 6-11 are $10, and Under 6 is Free of charge! Pit admission is $35, and no license is required.

Fans may camp out at the Speedway for the ultimate Speed Week experience. Campers are asked to park in the turn 4 parking area, there are no hook-ups available, and no box camping allowed. Track officials ask that all fires be contained. There is no fee for camping.
