CRSA Sprints To Tackle “New York’s Toughest Bullring,” Woodhull, Saturday
Story By: STEVEN OVENS / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – Saturday night’s racing card, sponsored by Patrick Hoopes Trucking, includes the one and only stop for 2018 of Mike Emhof Motorsports’ CRSA 305 Sprint Tour presented by Super Gen Products and Champion Power Equipment.
305 sprint car drivers from all across New York and Pennsylvania will set County Route 102 in Woodhull on their GPS units for an exciting race night on the High Banks. Thomas Radivoy, CRSA points leader, will lead the CRSA 305 brigade into Saturday night’s race that will include front-runner Jeff Trombley in the Warren Alexson team car.
Trombley trails Radivoy by only three markers coming into a track he finished runnerup at in 2017 when CRSA made their first ever trip to Woodhull. They will look to defend ‘series turf’ against other 305 sprint regulars who compete weekly at other tracks in the area such as Clinton County, that have entered their hat into the ring for this special event at Woodhull.
Also on the racing card for Saturday night will be the Insinger Performance Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, SWL Awards & Photos Crate Late Models who will race for $1,000-to-win, the Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Daughtery’s Auto Sales & Service Mini Stocks and Bear’s Auto Body Front Wheel Drives. The Daugherty’s Auto Sales & Service Warriors and Woodhull Auto Supply Hobby Stocks have the week off.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands Saturday at 4:30 for only $14 for adults 13 and up. Seniors 65+ and ages 8-12 will be $7. Children 7 and under are always free at Woodhull Raceway as well as plenty of room for FREE Camping.
Pit passes have been set at $35 and the pit area will open at 3:30 for early arriving teams. Our weekly Early Bird Special runs from 4:30-5:30 and offers $1 off general admission. Heat in the sprint car motors will take place at 5:45 with Hot Laps slated for 6:00. The green flag for the first set of heat races will be dropped by Scott Lyon at 6:30.
Don’t forget that there are only three weeks remaining in the Lil’ Miss/Lil’ Mr. Woodhull contest, so bring your non-perishable food items to the track to ‘vote’ for your favorite candidate for 2018’s Miss or Mister Woodhull. The contest will conclude after Hot Laps on June 23rd.
