Big Show Defending Champion Tim McCreadie’s Ready To Rumble At Albany-Saratoga

Story By: ROB HAYES / BH RACING – MALTA, NY – Brett Hearn’s Big Show 10 will rock Albany-Saratoga Speedway on June 26th featuring the stars and cars of the Super DIRTcar Big Block Series and some of the toughest weekly competitors assembled at one dirt track.

Perhaps one of the biggest attractions at the 10th anniversary celebration of Brett Hearn’s Big Show will be the highly popular Big Block Modified and Late Model driver Tim McCreadie, who gave race fans a taste of his determination to win at the great race place during the season opener on a Tuesday night holding off the charges of Super Matt Sheppard.

The prodigal son of barefoot Bob McCreadie has done very well for himself during his career. Son of a hall-of-fame driver has amassed Modified wins, championships, Late Model wins, championships, and even won the 2006 Chili Bowl Nationals and the 2008 Knoxville Nationals Late Model Championship. He often challenges for big win after big win and last season he claimed his first Big Show championship.

“I got beside Stewie and once he saw me up there he kind of moved up and wrestled the lead away from me and I thought man I missed my chance, because he may not come off that cushion again,” said McCreadie in an interview with Ed Bitting Jr. during victory lane after his Big Show 9 win.

He continued by saying, “That last restart was good for me, because I couldn’t start on the bottom without slipping the tires real bad and they all just kind of fought for the bottom and I could see the cushion better.”

For McCreadie it was his first Brett Hearn’s Big Show title, but not his first trip to victory lane at Albany Saratoga Speedway. Besides his epic battle with Sheppard earlier this season, which he won, T-Mac has visited victory lane multiple times at the great race place.

Another interesting fact that has fans buzzing and riding the T-Mac train could be the fact McCreadie has won his last two times visiting Malta, NY. That ladies and gentlemen is a win streak for the Sweetners Plus number 39 team. That also makes him the only ‘outsider’ to win the Big Show and a regular show at Albany Saratoga consecutively.

He is a wildly popular driver whose humble beginnings as a helicopter mechanic helped him afford to race. From there he’s sparked national attention with numerous big victories and even landed with Richard Childress Racing in 2007 for a short stint in the now named Xfinity series, but his heart was with dirt racing.

“A lot of them (race fans) will come to a show where I’m running late models and when we do have a show around here (New York) they’re 100% behind me,” McCreadie concluded.

No question about it, when Tim McCreadie and the Sweetners Plus team rolls into Albany Saratoga Speedway on June 26th, they’ll be greeted by a legion of fans and supporters with an eye on the high side where T-Mac will surely be throttle down looking for the hat trick.

Brett Hearn’s Big Show has established staying power, after all that’s how an event reaches a 10th year anniversary. It’s appeal to the fans, it’s showmanship above and beyond the racing on the track, and the support from great marketing partners such as Recovery Sports Grill, Halmar International, and VP Racing Fuels contribute to the events success.

Along with the festivities each year is the Big Crate Show for Sportsman as well, which is presented by Fox Racing Shocks. Each race is worth $1,000 to the winner and if they’re on Fox Shocks they will also receive a $250 bonus.

NASCAR personality Kenny Wallace will be joining the festivities at Big Show 10 along with Super Dirt Week outlaw Gary Balough who will be promoting his new book releasing this summer.
