15th Doesn’t Show How Good Of A Car Chad Pierce Had Saturday At Lebanon Valley
Story By: BOBBY CHALMERS / CP RACING – EAGLE BRIDGE, NY – Chad Pierce looked like he had everything starting to click Saturday night at Lebanon Valley to get his first top five finish of the season. Good heat race result. Good starting spot and a good car.
However, circumstances beyond his control took away a possible good finish.
While running in the second position, Pierce and his #83 H. Sausville Construction PMC was spun by another competitor in turns three and four. That sent the former Lebanon Valley track champion to the tail of the field in the hopes he could rally back towards the front.
“Well, our car was really good Saturday night,” Pierce said. “I was in second and was trying to get into a rhythm. Long story short, I just got taking out going into the turn.”
Even with having to go to the rear, Pierce persevered and pushed forward to bring the car home in the 15th position. It’s too bad because the finish isn’t a true representation of just how good of a car the team had.
“It’s just too bad because my guys bust there butts for me and we had a really good piece,” he said. “For that to happen just flat out stinks, but we’ll regroup and hopefully be just as good this week.
Chad currently sits 17th in Small Block Modified points at the speedway, 30 points out of the top 10.
The next event on the CP Racing Team’s schedule will be Saturday night at the “Valley of Speed” when DMC Racing Products and the Alarms Of Berkshire County present another great night of action. Gates open at 5pm.
