The former All Star full-timer, who finished seventh in the Series’ driver standings in 2017, will follow the regional travelers to Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park and Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park on Friday and Sunday, May 25 & 27, respectively.
Michael’s tentative plan for Saturday, May 26, is to visit Fremont (Ohio) Speedway for the Open Wheel Shootout. Another potential plan for Saturday is to follow the All Star Circuit of Champions to Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio. A decision regarding Saturday will be made later in the week.
“We’ve been busy trying to build some rhythm this year. My guys work their tails off, but I think we just need more laps. A busy weekend like this well ensure that,” T.J. Michael explained, driver of the Advanced Cast Stone/Fremont Fence Company/Crown Battery/Kear’s Speed Shop/Hinchman Suits/Big D’s Pizza of Fremont and Clyde/Kistler Racing Engines/Maxim Chassis/Wood Heating & Air Conditioning/Pro Tech Service Company/Wings Unlimited/Shell Shock/No. 8M sprint car. “We had an awesome pair of starts a few weeks back, but we had a tough night at Attica this past weekend. Those things happen. You have to take the bad with the good and keep moving forward. The end of May and the entire month of June are really busy for us. We plan to take advantage of that. We’re ready to get things rolling.”
The “Texas Traveler” will enter the upcoming weekend with a recent stretch of top-ten performances to his credit, finishing fifth and seventh during Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association (OVSCA) competition at Hilltop Speedway and Wayne County Speedway, respectively. During Michael’s most recent start, the Fremont, Ohio, resident via Plano, Texas, finished fifth during B-main action at Attica Raceway Park on May 18, advancing from the outside of row five to do so.
“I can’t thank everyone behind this team enough for their hard work and support,” Michael continued. “A lot of people keep this team going. It’s really motivating to know that I have a group of people like I do supporting what I am trying to accomplish – win races.”
