USAC “Wingless” East Coast Sprints & All-Star Monster Truck Tour Highlight Weekend At Big Diamond

Story By: KENNETH BRUCE / BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY – MINERSVILLE, PA – Making their first of two appearances of 2018 at Big Diamond Speedway, the USAC “Wingless” East Coast Sprints will invade the Schuylkill County dirt oval on Friday May 18th.

The traveling series made their debut on back on April 18th at the Delaware International Speedway with Steven Drevicki winning the main event. If Drevicki is looking to keep his winning ways going he will have to deal with 2016 Modified Track Champion Ryan Godown who is looking very forward to competing on his weekly Friday night track in the Karl Freyer #4F. Godown had a solid run down in Delaware with an impressive fourth place finish in his debut and with his knowledge of Big Diamond, Godown should be a force to be reckoned with.

Competing along with the East Coast Sprints will the USAC East Coast Midgets. Formerly known as the ARDC Midgets. This group of drivers have always put on an exciting show at Big Diamond and this Friday night it should be more of the same. This will be race number three on the season for the group with Tommy Kunsman and Alex Bright victorious in the first two events.

Filling out the Friday night card will be the No Sweat Service Group Street Stocks and the Savage 61 Roadrunners. Both divisions really put on a show each and every Friday night with exciting side by side action throughout their main events.

General admission for Friday night is $14, Seniors $12 with kids 10 and under admitted free.

Gates will open at 5:30pm with warmups starting at 7:30pm.

Once the action is complete on Friday night, all attention will turn to one of the most highly anticipated weekends on the Big Diamond Schedule. The All-Star Monster Truck Tour will take over the speedway on Saturday May 19th and Sunday May 20th for two days of scintillating action.

The event sponsored by Red, White and Blue Autos, Inc should be a thrill a minute show and fun for all ages. Along with the All-Star Monster Trucks will be the Tough Trucks and for the first time ever the backflipping excitement of Freestyle Motocross, both sponsored by Schaeffer’s Motorsports.

Gates open for Saturday night’s activities at 4:00pm with a pit party slated for 5:00 to 6:30. Showtime on Saturday will get underway at 7:00pm.

Sunday’s schedule has gates opening at 11:00am with the pit party scheduled for 12:00pm to 1:30pm with the show getting underway at 2:00pm.
