The “Ravena Rocket” Proves He’s The Sherriff On Law Enforcement Night At Albany-Saratoga
Column By: LAURIE FALLIS / RPW – MALTA, NY – After a tough double header last week, Keith Flach finally had things go his way, claiming the 35-lap main event Friday night at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway.
Flach took advantage of a good starting spot to take the lead on lap six and held off the challenges from last week’s winner, Ronnie Johnson, Brett Hearn, Marc Johnson and Jeremy Wider, which was your top five at the checkers.
“I’m just glad to shake of the bad luck and get this win tonight,” Flach said. “I was a little too high at times, getting over the berm in one and two and was not sure how close anybody was.”
The Sportsman main event had Jeremy Pitts running in the right spot at the right time as he was able to capitalize on David Schilling’s misfortune late in the feature. The #20 Of Schilling was well in command until lap 22 when two cars spun in front of the leader in turns three and four. David had no where to go and he ran into the duo.
Schilling tried to get back in the spot he was running but officials made him go to the rear. An unhappy Schilling parked his car on the front stretch and walked back to the pits as he was not happy with the decision.
In the end, it was Pitts claiming the 25-lap feature.
The Limited Sportsman had a terrific race between “Rock-N-Roll” John Stowell and Justin Buff. The two raced the entire event door-to-door with Stowell outdueling Buff for the victory.
“It was a lot of fun racing out there like that,” Stowell said.
The Pro Stocks were doing double feature due to the rainout a couple of weeks ago. The fans saw some great racing going on in this division.
After coming close last week to putting his car in victory lane, their was no denying Josh Coonradt as he sealed the deal this week, getting his first win in a Pro Stock at the speedway.
In the second feature, it was last week’s winner, “Krazy Kenny Martin, leading for only one corner, but it was the one that took him to the checkered flag.
The Street Stock winner was the guy that is on a roll in the division right now, winning three consecutive races, including one in the Glen Ridge / Malta challenge and that was Randy Miller.
