Patriot Sprint Weekly Roundup: Barney Victorious at LoLR; Woodhull Up Next

Story By: CURTIS BERLEUE / PATRIOT SPRINT TOUR – SODUS, NY – Last weekend saw the first competitive laps of the 2018 season for the Patriot Sprint Tour, with 39 cars signed in at the Land of Legends Raceway (formerly Canandaigua Motorsports Park). Racin’ Jason Barney took home top honors over Bryan Howland and Chuck Hebing.

As only one event has been contested thus far in 2018, the point standings mirror the results from the Land of Legends Raceway – Jason Barney leads Howland, Hebing, Steve Poirier and Dylan Westbrook to round out the top 5.

This weekend, the Patriot Sprint Tour will travel to the highbanks of the Woodhull Raceway for the first of two visits scheduled for 2018. There have been 19 Patriot Sprint Tour events held at the Steuben county oval, dating back to September 1st of 2007 where Chuck Hebing picked up the win.

Hebing also holds the most wins in Patriot Sprint Tour competition at Woodhull with 6 victories, though his most recent triumph was nearly four years ago coming on July 26th of 2014. The most recent A-Main held went to Bryan Howland, who was followed across the line by Kyle Drum and Steve Collins.

Pit gates will open on Saturday at 3:30pm, with grandstands opening to the public at 4:30pm and racing action starting promptly at 6:30pm. Adult general admission will be $18 for ages 13 and up, seniors and students aged 8-12 will be admitted for just $10 and children under 8 are free. Pit admission is set at $40.

A special PST driver autograph session will be held from 4:30 until just after 5pm at the PST merchandise trailer behind the grandstands.
