King Of Dirt 358-Modified Series Has Title Sponsor For 2018 Racing Season

Story By: ROB HAYES / KING OF DIRT – BALLSTON LAKE, NY – After an exciting first season for the King Of Dirt Racing 358 Modified division, which saw the ‘white knight’ Marc Johnson claim the crown and $3,000 championship, Elmo’s Speed Supply is back for a second season as title sponsor with the Small Block Modifieds.

In 2018 just six races currently make up the King Of Dirt Racing 358 Modified series schedule, which includes stops to Utica Rome Speedway, Devil’s Bowl Speedway, Glen Ridge Motorsports Park, Albany Saratoga Speedway, and Lebanon Valley Speedway.

The father-son duo of Elmo and Chris Reckner have long supported dirt track racing throughout the Capital District. Their support includes the Northeast Crate Nationals dating back to 2013 and King Of Dirt Racing since it’s origin in 2015. Once again they’ll offer a driver the opportunity to earn $3,000 for the title at the 2018 Night Of Champions Banquet.

“We think what Hazer has worked to build for the racers in the Capital District is great and we just want to follow the tour around and have a little fun in process,” said Elmo Reckner, co-owner of Elmo’s Speed Supply and driver of the Dave Prime Jr. Mac Tools and Wendy’s number 17.

Elmo’s Speed Supply will provide the kick-start for the Small Block Modified point fund elevating the champions take to a minimum of $2,500. The rest of the point fund monies are gained through entry fee process and any other marketing partner(s) who support the series, such as Mayhem Motorsports who put $500 at the top spot to round it off to $3,000 to the champion.

“The way we are going to build the point fund for the Small Blocks is identical to how we build it for the Sportsman and Pro Stocks. Each 358 race has a $25 entry fee per driver, which we put directly into the point fund. What Elmo and Chris are doing for us is a huge part of the Small Block program by boosting the point fund from the get go,” said KOD Promoter Rob Hazer.

Elmo’s Speed Supply is located in Ballston Lake, NY and services a number of drivers in the Capital District with quality new and used parts. From rolling race rods to bolt on parts, their inventory will help get you on the winning track. Elmo’s is a full service speed shop and home to Small Block Modified competitor Elmo Reckner and the Wendy’s Cyclone Chassis.

“We are fortunate enough to work with two of the very best parts businesses in the Capital District as title sponsors and we’re excited to have Elmo’s title sponsor the 358 Modified division again,” concluded Rob Hazer.

The Elmo’s Speed Supply King Of Dirt Racing 358 Modified Series gets started June 3rd at the action track of the east, Utica Rome Speedway.
