John Waters Wins Two-In-A-Row & Now Readies For Eriez Speedway
Story By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – WHITESVILLE, NY – Another weekend full of potential threats from Mother Nature but Friday night at Outlaw Speedway would see perfect weather for some great racing. John Waters made the trip from Whitesville to compete in the first of three races on his weekend schedule.
In his MasterSbilt TroupsCreek Auto & Heating LeBarron #11, Waters started out finishing third in his qualifying heat right behind Chad Homan and Jason Knowles putting him into a fifth starting spot for the feature.
Off the start of the green flag, Waters worked his way to the bottom of the track and keep the momentum rolling in his MasterSbilt number 11. Refining his line, Waters kept closing in on leader Chad Homan. With 5 laps to go, Waters was able to catch and clear Chad Homan for the leader. A caution with 2 laps remaining, slowed the field but on the ensuing restart Waters would not be challenged and would win his first of 2018. Waters won over Homan, Bidwell, and Jason Knowles.
With Saturday’s original plan of running Stateline being canceled, Waters decided to go to another home track, Woodhull Raceway. In his qualifying heat, Waters finished just barely 2nd as he was side by side with his team mate Steve LeBarron at the line for the lead.
A runner-up finish for John gave him an eighth starting spot for the feature event. As the green flag flew, Waters quickly made his way to the bottom lane of the speedway. It wouldn’t take long for Waters to pass some cars. In fact, Waters would inherit the lead from Jason Knowles on lap six and pull away from the rest of the field. During the rest of the race, Waters would not be denied and wins over Jason Knowles, Steve LeBarron, Kurt Stebbins, and Darrin Horton.
John Waters has two wins with one race left on the weekend which will be at the Eriez Speedway with the RUSH Late Model Series Sunday evening.
