Zearfoss Cruises To Sixth At Port Royal; Central PA All Star Events Next
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Although Brock Zearfoss’ Central Pennsylvania top-ten streak has snapped, his ability to captivate fans is still going strong.
In spectacular fashion, the “Jonestown Jet” rebounded in a big way on Saturday evening at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace,” charging forward from 22nd on the feature grid to finish sixth at the end of the 25-lap main event.
A mechanical issue during heat race competition was the culprit, forcing the defending Port Royal Speedway track champion to start near the tail of the field.
“Not exactly how we wanted to do things on Saturday, but we found something good and got rolling in the feature. That’s what makes our team so competitive; the ability to bounce back and drive out of poor positions like that,” Brock Zearfoss said, who has four top-ten finishes thus far in 2018. “Mechanical issues happen, especially with new cars. We have some bugs to work out, but we’ll get there.”
Tossing the recent weekend behind him, the Jonestown, Pa., native will now look ahead and begin preparations for a pair of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 starts at Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14. Zearfoss, who has yet to earn an All Star victory, will hunt for a $5,000 payday during each of his upcoming All Star appearances, hoping to add an All Star triumph to his list of racing accomplishments that already includes one World of Outlaws victory.
“I’m excited for the weekend. Hopefully the weather plays nice and we get a few nights of good racing in,” the driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Meckley’s Limestone/Central Builders Supply Co./Berkebile Oil Company/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Creekside Roofing and Siding/Invisible Glass/Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./ No. 3Z stated. “The All Stars are bringing a solid group of followers with them this year. It is definitely going to be a challenge. Hopefully we can make our fans proud and earn a win against the All Stars.”
