Tony Stewart Presents The TX Sprint Car Nationals Next For American Sprint Car Series
Story By: BRYAN HULBERT / ASCS – TULSA, OK – The perfect racing weekend for fans of NASCAR and Sprint Cars has arrived as the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com is set to headline Tony Stewart presents the Vankor Texas Sprint Car Nationals at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7 at 7:30 P.M. (CT) each night.
Earning the distinction of winningest Sprint Car driver at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track with his sweep of the Texas Sprint Car Nationals in 2017 bringing him to four at the four-tenths mile oval, Sunnyvale, Texas driver Sam Hafertepe, Jr. sits runner-up in tour standings to Roger Crockett, who picked up the 2018 season opener at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on March 16.
First seeing action in 2012, nine A-Features have been contested in Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com competition with Sam Hafertepe, Jr. (4), Jason Johnson (2), Seth Bergman (2), and Aaron Reutzel (1) picking up wins. Johnny Herrera also raced his way to victory at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products.
Along with the top drivers of the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com, Tony Stewart will join the action along with Christopher Bell and Sammy Swindell. Joined by Limited Modifieds, the always exciting Kenny Wallace will also take to the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.
This weekend’s Texas double-header is also the opening weekend for the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products. Oklahoma’s Alex Sewell enters the weekend looking to defend his 2017 championship.
Grandstands on Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7 at 6:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:00 P.M. Pit Gates on Friday will open at Noon. There is no charge to park in the Pits. No personal vehicles will be allowed. All Sprint Car teams will park along the back straightaway of the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track. Limited Modifieds will park along the fence facing I-35.
