Dietrich Scores Podium Finish With All Stars At Williams Grove; Central PA Double Ahead
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – Nearly bumping his season win total to three, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich secured his fourth top-five finish of the 2018 season on Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway, finishing third against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 during the annual Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial.
Dietrich, who started fourth on the Hinnershitz Memorial main event grid, earned his way into the $5,000-to-win program by finishing fourth during his respective heat race. Dietrich’s heat race performance, mixed in with a great qualifying effort, also placed the Gettysburg, Pa., native in one of two All Star dashes where he finished second.
The 2017 Central PA Sprint Series presented by Hoseheads.com champion continued his weekend campaign with an eleventh place finish against the All Stars on Saturday night at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace.” Dietrich, who started from row seven for the 30-lapper, qualified for the Keith Kauffman Classic main event by finishing third during his respective heat race.
There were nearly 50 cars in attendance for each of the All Star programs.
“Not a bad weekend for our team. We didn’t get moving at Port Royal Speedway like we did at Williams Grove, but we’ll take it and move forward,” Dietrich explained, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Gsell’s Whitetails/Hickory Run Orchards/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprinter. “I just want to thank my crew and all of my supporters for their hard work and determination. It’s not easy sometimes, but they work hard and keep things fun.”
Danny Dietrich will make his return to Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21, all before making the trip Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio, for the $100,000-to-win World Championships on April 27-28. The second generation racer will enter the upcoming weekend with ten top-ten finishes to his credit, four of which within the top-five.
