Brent Marks Rallies For Top-Ten Finish At Arizona Speedway
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRENT MARKS RACING – QUEEN CREEK, AZ – The “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks put on a passing clinic with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Saturday night at Arizona Speedway, advancing from deep within the field to earn a top-ten finish; his third of the 2018 season against the Greatest Show On Dirt.
Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/A. Murray Family Investments/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car, started 17th at the Queen Creek-based venue, advancing as far forward as ninth before settling for a tenth place finish. The 2017 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year runner-up earned his A-main starting position by finishing sixth during his respective heat race.
“It was a solid recovery for our team and a good way to end our first West Coast Swing of the season,” Brent Marks explained, who is 14th in the current World of Outlaws standings. “We’ve shown everyone time and time again that we have the ability to charge through a field and advance forward from deep within a starting grid. What we have to do now is improve our qualifying effort and earn some better finishes in our heat races. It takes time, but we are learning. I’m ready to head back east and start racing on tracks that are a little more on our radar.”
Brent Marks will continue his second, full-year on the road with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series with a pair of Midwest stops on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14. The Myerstown, Pa., native will visit Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., for the first time in his career on Friday, April 13, followed by a trip to southern Indiana where the former Pennsylvania Posse representative will invade the Tri-State Speedway near Haubstadt on Saturday, April 14.
Marks finished 16th during his most recent attempt at the Tri-State Speedway bullring, moving forward three spots after starting 19th.
“I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work,” Marks continued. “There are a lot of people who support this team and believe in what we are trying to do. We definitely wouldn’t be in this position without them.”
